2013
stream of consciousness.
It is a wild and crazy time here right now. So many things to try to get ready for…packing…parenting…sorting and organizing…plus all the regulars like laundry and cooking (who am I kidding…I don’t cook!)
This is just my feeble attempt to remember a few moments from the past few weeks before our lives change dramatically in just a FEW DAYS!!!
This will be a bit like 10 on Tuesday. Although I can’t promise 10 and it’s Monday and so other than a list of random thoughts…it really is nothing like it at all.
1. I switched up our kitchen chalkboard in anticipation of a certain little ray of Sunshine who will be home SOON!
2. I am getting out the spring decor gosh darn it. It can snow all it wants. I’ve declared SPRING!
3. I agreed to a speaking engagement next week. As I have been pouring over my presentation I learned something about myself. The only thing I really love more than old houses is babies! And NO this is not an annoucement. Unless the African stork wants to drop a baby girl on my doorstep…and then by ALL means…bring her on over!!
4. It was Mimi’s birthday. We celebrated with carry-out, applesauce brownies, a pretty vase (that didn’t hold water!), flowers, a skit in her honor, and a rip roaring good game of Old Maid. That is true love.
5. A little someone got fitted for new orthotics today and was just thrilled with his fate.
6. On that note…this little guy has been making HUGE progress after his Botox and serial casting. His leg alignment is much better. He is walking straighter and more fluidly. His left foot isn’t turning in. And he isn’t tippy toe-ing! I took this little video of him this morning shoot’n some hoops. Listen for the grunts. They are my favorite part.
7. Pre-packing laundry is the worst. I waited {a few} extra days to do the laundry thinking it would be closer to departure time but I think that plan really bit me in the butt.
8. We’ve got 20 large pieces of injera purchased and individually frozen in the freezer…time for Sunshine to come HOME!!!!
9. The girls had another violin recital this weekend. They are like violin recital machines right now. My Dad snapped some photos for us and I manned the video. I so wish we could have at least ONE daytime recital so we didn’t have to combat the dark cave!
10. Miss Middle playing the Martini Gavotte.
11. And The Brainiac playing the 2nd movt. of the Vivaldi A Minor Concerto
12. Mr. P and the Brainiac roll out THIS THURSDAY morning!! They will have Sunshine in their care by Saturday. I am just besides myself with excitement, worry, gratitude, and longing. Please pray for a safe journey for them!!
13. We would LOVE to have you come and welcome SUNSHINE HOME at the Lincoln airport on Thursday, March 14. Please email me if you would like specifics!
Excitement must be at a peak…Injera. Where do you purchase this bread in Lincoln? Stan and I ate at a wonderful little Restaurant here and dined on a most delicious meal using injera. Hum hum good. What an adventure for your daughter to accompany Paul to bring your Sunshine home. Prayers for them in their travels, and prayers for you and your nerves!! Blessings to all the Cooper clan
I completely hear the frenzy in your words and it brings me back to last July. Prayers for peace in the wait….and joy in her homecoming.
Love all the excitement and preparation. I so wish we lived by you so that we could welcome Sunshine home. Many blessings to you and your family!
Hugs,
Amy

love you.
