“Owl miss you” DIY teacher gifts

So I know you all prepare ahead of time for things like teacher gifts.  But I’m more of a how-the-heck-is-it-already-the-last-day-of-school kind of gal.  It crept up on me quick this year.  And while you are all celebrating the awesomeness of having all your chicks in your roost for the summer…I’m freaking out.  All these little people want meals and entertainment!

So we’ve got a couple of days of summer under our belts now and I’m happy to report I have {so far} kept everyone alive.

I did have some momments of panic on the Last Day of School Eve when I had yet to contemplate End of the Year gifts.   I hopped on Pinterest and typed in “teacher gifts”.  I scrolled quickly down the page looking for something {anything} that I had laying around the house (classy, I know).   I found a cute little owl bag and I thought to myself, “self:  you have that exact same owl template left over from your girls’ Nite Owl birthday party”.   I printed off a sheet and conjured up a package of treat bags left over from another occasion.  I had planned on baked goodies for the interior.  But after a call to my mom (a long time teacher who insisted she NEVER ate things brought to her from her student’s homes…probably a good call now that I think about it…too bad I didn’t think of that when I was teaching) I nixed that idea.  Super Sam ran to Bath and Bodyworks with me and we picked out a shower gel/lotion mini set for each teacher.  Into the bags they went.  I stapled the tops closed.  I cut out those owl heads and double stick taped them in place with the corny little notes….and VOILA…fairly cute teacher gifts!

Feel free to steal this idea if you are a last minute gal like me.
