celebrating the day.
We’ve only had a handful of summer days so far. Our first week of sleeping in, movie afternoons, and a very.loud.house. Saturday we decided to kick off summer with a little road trip to Omaha. We had a few errands to run and decided to just make a day of it and enjoy some time together.
The Brainiac just moved up to the next size of violin and is playing her Daddy’s old violin. But it needed a bit of work. So we spent the morning at the violin shop getting it spruced up.
We took her picture (of course) in front of the Violinist Hall of Fame
The kids got a tour of all things “strings” .
And then a little someone got fitted for his own violin.
Then we headed down to the Old Market to tour the candy store and quirky antique stores. The candy store was a hit.
We checked out the local farmer’s market.
We did a bit of shopping and had lunch. Then headed home feeling a wee bit tired. And happy.
It wasn’t a fancy vacation on a tropical island or a fun-packed adventure. More of a carefree day just hanging with our little family.
But it was a day worth celebrating.
now THAT was a beautiful day, no fanciness required. and i am all melty inside over your littlest violin player! oh, the cuteness.
