around here
We are still battling intermitant internet on our home PC so let’s just carry on with trusty Instagram, shall we?
A few tidbits of my day here in Nebraska. It’s been a whirlwind 2 weeks so far…there is just so much going on here. Between the home renovations, new school routines, and Christmas holiday…I’m feeling pulled in a thousand different directions. But last night we made the decision to call in some help on a few big projects…and I’m hoping that will take off some of the pressure and help us to also have time to just “be” here…which is the whole reason for the move!
So here we go!
{new scheme this year…all antique silver and white. it had been 12 years and I was ready for a tree overhaul}
{tree #2 is turquoise with glittered birds and feathers…I’m probably going to turn into one of those crazy old ladies who talks all day long to her parakeet and wears a floral moo moo.}
{finally carved out a little niche for my laptop}
{mercury glass obsession. I may need intervention. Except I’m not ready to seek help just yet.}
{lanterns and more sparkle on my freshly painted living room fireplace}
{lath strip star and glitter branches. Kass if you read this: you KNOW you are sorry you didn’t buy that star!}
{tiny houses and pretty books}
{tiny houses and pretty books part deux}
{gargantuous birdcage}
{on my island}
{12 step program?}
{a simple reminder that joy isn’t so hard to find}
{the tacky tree decorated by the kids – I’m not allowed to touch it}
{goldfish probably aren’t considered festive but are a daily necessity at our abode nonetheless}
{messy dinner calls for an early bath}
{all the corners of the world rejoice}
{seriously addicted. better than thin mints and that is saying something}
Happy Wednesday friends!
Hi Jen, I’ve been reading for a long time, maybe back when you first mentioned adoption and I’ve followed your journey and enjoyed the craft, beautiful things you’ve done to your house, esp the girls playroom and that yellow door along the way! And now you are onto another massive project and I can’t believe how quickly you are getting things done!! I think I’ve commented maybe 2 times before. I too am renovating so slowly so painfully with a husband who is working away as of 4 months ago. Not nice at all, see him for 5 days every 3 weeks. anyway, I am so excited to read and see what you are doing to your home and love all the little American ways and things like goldfish crackers! Take care. xLeah QLD Australia
honeychild, i am in love with your style. (esp that collection of globes–swoon!) and how awesome is the no-parents tree? you have the bestest small folk.
your new abode already looks so much like you. yum.
Can’t wait to see it in person.
Looking so festive…maybe it will motivate me to decorate the kid tree in the basement. Here’s to hoping…..
Glad to know someone else is suffering from Mercury Glass Obsession! I may need treatment as well! Everything looks great! Love the silver and white tree theme! (:
i want some m&ms now…
As stylin’ as I think your trees are (and I love that silver and white tree!!!), there is nothing like the “all kids” tree. That is what Christmas decorating is all about in my world. Tacky but sentimental is the theme for our tree!
Where do you find the time!!?? So beautiful!
LOVE all your Christmas decor!! I dig that mercury glass too.
Love it all, Jenn! The joy to the world framed map may be my favorite
Oh, and you can’t have too much mercury glass *nevah*! :O
short haircuts…
Hello, i think that i saw you visited my blog so i came to “return the favor”.I’m trying to find things to enhance my web site!I suppose its ok to use a few of your ideas!!…
