whew. what a relief.

After 28 days on the market, 18 showings, and three open houses….we have an OFFER on our house!

sold-1

First off.  I know that for most reading this blog that whole ordeal happened lightning fast.  I know you are shaking your head and thinking “man…luckiest girl alive!”  And PRAISE GOD…YES we are so fortunate that this happened as quickly as it did!

But don’t be fooled into thinking I have handled the past month with any amount of grace or dignity.  I have a theory about house selling and Hell.  Hell is a terrible place…full of gnashing of teeth, fire, unquenchable thirst…and maybe Satan throws in the burden of having your house on the market too…you know…to drive home the point of complete and utter despair.

Because having your house on the market while you are living in it with FOUR children is not pretty people.

So we are leaving in one month.  A truck will come and pack everything we own that isn’t already in storage (can I just drive that storage unit off a cliff somewhere?  I can’t possibly need a single thing inside of it!) We’ll drive to Nebraska and start a new life.  In a new house that we haven’t picked out yet.  Or we might be living in my parent’s basement…which is looking likely these days.

The kids are a mess (just being honest).  We told them a month ago that we were moving.  They cried and carried on.  And then everything went back to normal for them and they must have just imagined it was all a bad dream.  It’s been a hard week full of drama with the girls.  Although Sam keeps spontaneously shouting “I’m SO HAPPY to be moving to Abraska!”  At least someone is talking to me!

YEAH FOR AN OFFER!  YEAH FOR MOVING!  YEAH FOR NEBRASKA (this is really just a little self help pep talk here)

More to come when we get our lives planned out.

Congratulations!! I can’t say I wish to be moving back to Nebraska (even if *maybe* it’s true), but I hope things go smoothly and the kids settle in well with new friends and fun activities galore — just like WE had! :)

Congrats! That’s awesome news!! I can’t imagine living in a house that you’re trying to sell with even 1 kid! Way to go![

Woo Hoo! Congrats on the “Speedy” sale of the abode and here’s a pinch of luck to find something in Nebraska….cuz living in the parent’s basement with 4 kids…yeah not ideal either! :)
