10 on Tuesday
It’s been awhile…so why not?
1. I have a cold. A mean, nasty, balloon-head cold. And I’m not particularly happy about it.
2. The girls and I were having a conversation at dinner tonight about my Papa and his cleft chin. The Brainiac mentioned the stories I have always told about how he kept M&Ms in his shirt pocket and snuck them to us as kids. Miss Middle exclaimed “WOW…I bet God is loving that he is feeding them to Him now!” Such a sweet memory.
3. I killed a 3 inch spider in my garage today. Just thinking about it gives me chills head to toe. I felt part Gladiator and part cowering wimp all at once. But me and that big bad shovel made quick work of him and now my house is safe again.
4. I took Super Sam for a hair cut today and decided it was time for Danny to get his first trim. I’m hoping for a true afro for him at some point. But he desperately needed some shaping. The top was over 7″ long and the back was just a rats nest from his car seat.
{Since it was an impromptu cut I didn’t bring my camera. Poor 4th child gets crummy blurry phone pics! And his brother insisted he use the pink Barbie jeep….is that love or what?}
“You’re gonna do what?”

“Ok….not soooo bad…”

“Man I look GOOOOOOD!”

5. Awhile back we bought the girls a 5 gallon fish tank (after Pebbles the Fish kicked the bucket). We had 6 or 7 fish in there but one by one they died leaving us with one dalmation Molly named “Oreo”. A few days ago I noticed some tiny brown clumps on the bottom of the tank. A few hours later they were swimming around. Apparantly, Molly fish give live birth and we bought a pregnant fish. Fantastic. The girls have been congratualting themselves for days at their luck. I cautioned them to hold on lightly as I expected Oreo to eat the babies. But she didn’t. So tonight we googled “Molly fish had babies”. What luck. Mollies can give birth to 5-6 sets of fry from one “encounter” with a male…each birth resulting in 10-25 baby fish. So basically, we are raising a fish farm while we move. Splendid.
6. The Brainiac is going on a field trip to the Kansas City Zoo on Thursday and she just asked me if I would mind if she took my camera along.
7. I have begun collecting “new house” pins on Pinterest. DANGEROUS. I have 2 houses in which I am currently in love. Two VERY different houses. But both are big projects
Hence the pins. Feel free to follow me on Pinterest and check them out.
8. Six showings in five days = exhaustion.
9. Danny’s death dirge crawl has turned into more of a mozy over the past few days. He has discovered the wonderful world of closed kitchen cabinets, the pantry, my shoe organizer, and the game cabinet. It’s safe to say the kid is in heaven.
10. Planning our family pictures. Here’s my question…knee high socks with tall brown boots…yeah or ney?
Knee socks+tall boots= YES!
6 showings in 5 days means lots of good interest! I can’t imagine having to keep my house “show ready” with my three kids! More power to ya!
I’ve been watching all your breakfast nook pins on Pinterest and wondering if you were moving to a house with one.
