going home…
Sometimes we long for something so long we forget that it is even possible. And sometimes God shows us very clearly that He has a purpose and His timing is perfect.
That happened this weekend for us. And now we are going home….to NEBRASKA!
Many of you know that Mr. P has become a world traveler over the past few years. He has actually really loved his job at Garmin for the past 9 years but as his responsibilities increased there…so did the international travel. And over the course of the past 18 months we have been increasingly uncomfortable with what that has meant for our family. Too many nights as a single mom. Too many nights with little ones crying at bedtime. Too many missed soccer games, and violin concerts, and family movie nights. So we began to look. And look. And look some more. We’ve thought we had it “in the bag” several times….called a realtor, painted and organized (remember all those spring cleaning posts?) But God wasn’t ready to blow our minds yet. We needed to complete another season here in Kansas City. We needed to bring Daniel home. We needed to fix our house. We needed to see a friend through the ups and downs of cancer. We needed to be here. And NOW…the going home is just that much sweeter!!
We are frantically working to get our house ready to hit the market on Wednesday. If you are local please spread the word! I will post pictures here on the blog soon!
We have over 15 years of memories here. The leaving will be hard. But we are looking forward to more time together, memories with grandparents in the same town…and a simpler life!!
How exciting!! When’s moving day?
Woo hoo! Home is were you are. You’ll always have your squinternet friends. We’re here 24/7! Wishing you a fun move closer to family.
Oh wow! And we were just talking about how yucky all that traveling is last Thursday. So glad that God had more in store for you. And how wonderful it will be to be close to family again. Thank you Lord for taking care of my friend!
OH.MY.GOODNESS. I am so, so happy for you all! I know how much it means to go HOME. My heart is bursting for your family! However, I still would like to actually meet you now that we are so close before you begin your next big venture…
Best of luck in EVERYTHING!!
O M G ! ! Your mom has to be ecstatic! I knew that you were looking awhile ago but I thought that enough time had passed that it wouldn’t be so. Now I will get to see the kids in PERSON! Congrats and welcome back to Lincoln! When will you move?
Congratulations! How fun. Wishing you happy moving and easy transitions! Oh and GO BIG RED!!!!
Husker Fans in Iowa here!!!!!
Congrats, Jenn! Maybe I’ll actually run into you there when we visit now!
Wow… I am happy for you but will be sad to see you go! Where is Paul going to work?
Such exciting news! Congrats on your new journey!!! How fun to have grandparents in the same town…there’s nothing like an afternoon full of memories with grandma & grandpa!!
How exciting for your family! It is so hard to trust in the Lord with all heart when His plans don’t always line up with ours. {at our time!} How blessed we are to have a Heavenly Father who knows what we need far more than we do. I imagine the kids are super excited to live close to their Grandparents. It has to be hard for the girls though to leave their friends. Worth it in the end but transition is hard! Good luck packing and organizing! Where in Nebraska are you moving? I’m not far in Iowa. We were just at the Henry Doorly Zoo last year!
Awe congrats. This photo is super adorable. Love it. Best wishes on selling the house and the move.
Yay for your family!!! Being a Nebraskan myself I’m pretty fond of it. ;o) We just recently made a move from Lincoln to three hours west of Lincoln for my husband’s job . . . and I’m really hoping God will bring us back closer to our families sometime in the future. Might have to look you up for some family photos sometime in the future, eh?? ;o)
Love the Picture! So happy for you guys! I sometimes dream of moving back to a “simpler” life. Best of Luck and I look forward to continue to follow your family on your blog. Blessings!
I am so excited for you!!! God works in such amazing ways!
Yay!!! Very excited for you guys and praying for a smooth transition!
Oh my, Jenn!!!!! Weren’t we just talking about this last week at Junk Bonanza??!! So glad that God is answering this prayer for you…His perfect timing is everything, isn’t it?! Praying for a quick sell and a smooth transition. Love your sweet boys in that picture!
Nebraska-The Good Life! It is amazing how you search and try to make things right, and it doesn’t come together. Then, POOF! It lands in your lap. That happened with us moving from Manhattan, Kansas back to home. Good luck with the transition!
