a good day.
A certain 3 year old FINALLY started preschool today. He was over eager. So much that he was up half the night in anticipation of his first day as a big man on campus. We packed his snack and his crafts (am I the only mom out there who finds it ridiculous to have a craft due before the first day of 3 year old preschool?) and off he went.
Some day when I design a church preschool I am going to be kind to all of the picture taking Mamarazzi out there and face the preschool sign the CORRECT position for morning exposure
We hung up his Paul Frank backpack and I tried the obligatory “stand by your name hook” shot while my 15 month old wiped his morning boogers down my sleeves and I tried to balance my ridiculously “oversized for morning preschool drop off” camera with one hand. Super Sam was shouting and pointing at me to “hurry up already as I have a class full of new friends waiting on me”.
I tried to get him to look longingly at me from his perch at his desk. One last mournful look…at least a wistfull glance. But he wouldn’t make eye contact for fear I would kiss him AGAIN in public. So off I went with one more snuggly planted on my hip. Danny and I ran home just in time for our morning therapy session with Miss Laura. And then it was back in the car for pick-up and smiles all the way around.
Also. Note to future self: Please schedule hair cut appointments for Sam the day BEFORE preschool starts!
This afternoon a HAPPY package came in the mail. I might have squealed out loud as I opened it and ignored my children for a solid half hour as I fondled each fabric square. Might have. Maybe.
Really excited about this project.
And already playing around tonight!
All around a good kind of day here at the Cooper house. I suspect our preschool time of 2 hours twice a week might leave us all wishing for a bit more!
you are a crack up Jenn…love your blogs..Sam is, of course, adorable…all your kids are..Ta
Oh….I imagine that is how our day will go tomorrow! J starts preschool for 2 hours too. I ALMOST sent him to Sam’s preschool….Sophia was “A Friendly Frog” there….and we loved it. I was really torn this year…..but opted for the closer school out of mere convenience….. As for projects before….yep…I’m one of those mom’s…they are THREE people…..no homework necessary:)
PS….Every pic I have of Sophia in front of that sign ….is a squinty eye pic from all the sun:)Have a fun year Sam!!
I am glad that my 3 yo isn’t the only one that is too busy to look at the camera
Love all the vintage sheets goodness….I am currently stocking my collection and will have to check this shop out. Love all of the ones you bought!
oh he is SO grown up and handsome! and i giggled myself silly about the positioning of the school sign…i think that every first day of school! (i’m all for digging out the signs and repositioning them next july.)
love you.
Loved the mamarazzi comment! Made me giggle. What are you making with your fabric?
