newbie {Kansas City Newborn Photographer}

Another newbie to share.  This one was a champion sleeper…with a shock of red hair and the cutest pouter I’ve seen in a long time.  She’s #4 in her clan but mom and dad were as calm and collected as could be.  We spent the afternoon ooohing and aaahing over her every little detail.  I can’t think of a better family to spend the day with…what a blessing!

I try really hard at each newborn session to provide a wide variety of images….traditional bean bag shots, baskets, with the family, and something unusual or unexpected.  Since this little gal was such a trooper we were able to break out a lot of fun props.  And she didn’t mind at all.  She was in a DEEP sleep (a photographer’s DREAM) and let me do whatever I wanted with her.  Combine that with an unseasonably warm sunny afternoon and we were all in heaven.  As I sat down to edit I realized her little pouter was WIDE OPEN in every shot…I’m surprised I didn’t have to edit out any drool…what a sleeper!

Love this moment between Mom and Dad.

We caught some fun images of the siblings too.  Mom is so fortunate to have so many little “helpers”…and really…they were all so amazing that afternoon.  At one point towards the end of the session Ms. Middle came to me and asked when I was going to give the baby her shots.  I was perplexed…so was mom!  I tried to explain that I was just a photographer and wouldn’t ever give anyone a shot!  Then she quipped, “but you said I could have a lolli once the baby had one more shot!”  {GRIN}  What a cutie!

One more to leave you with :)   What a gorgeous blessing you have in this sweet little bundle.  THANK YOU for allowing me to capture your family…can’t wait to get my hands on her again!

    Hi. I have been checking into your blog for a few weeks now and I am so amazed at your talent! Not only an amazing photographer but a great mom too! I have 2 daughters myself and live in Texas. Your work is beautiful… I am just getting my feet wet with a DSLR and I hope one day I can be as talented as you. I had a quick question… Do you use a flash or speedlight? All the time or only for certain occasions? Have a wonderful weekend with your family!

    Jenn,

    These pics are SO amazing – I’m in love. What sweet baby – what a beautiful family – what a blessing! But now I’m sad. Why, oh why, do we have to live so far from one another? My new little one is due in July & I would LOVE a session with you. *sigh*
