fashionable footwear

I can’t decide…which do you prefer?

DSC_0009-1

So here’s the {real} story.  I was putting A to bed last night…and tripped over her in the hallway.  I heard a loud SNAP.  After 15 minutes laying on her bed in the fetal position my jammed toe had not stopped burning.  I came downstairs and annouced to Mr. P, “I broke my foot”.  I iced it and tried not to be a pathetic whiner (for the record I was a huge wimp).  I decided to forgo heading out into the drifts to get it looked at and went to bed.  Except I couldn’t sleep because it felt like a forklift was backing up over my foot.  So I facebooked.  And emailed a few people (sorry if you were one of the ones who received messages at 3am from me).  This morning my foot was glorious shades of amethyst, heliotrope, and indigo.  So I did what any sane person would do…put on my sock and a gallon ziploc baggie and drove myself to the doctor {walking through the drifts of snow in 1* temps with a baggie on your foot could be a new form of self mutany}.  My poor “this little piggie had none” toe was broken clean through.  Right where it meets my foot.  Six weeks to heal.  Aren’t I lucky?

Here’s where I need YOUR HELP!

That story is SO lame.  I can’t bear to repeat it a billion times when each person I meets comments on my new footwear.  So leave me a comment with a better tale won’t ya??

My toe THANKS you :)

AND DON’T FORGET that there are only 48 hours to vote for the BEST of 2009 contest.  There have been about 500 votes so far…WOOHOO!  And the last I checked there was a TIE BETWEEN THE FIRST AND SECOND CONTENDERS {and no…I’m not gonna say who they are til Sunday!}

    Which do I prefer? Well, the blue shoe does look nice with your jean color.

    You poor thing! I don’t have a good story you can use, but I sure hope the pain at least goes away quickly! Maybe it’s a forced “slow down” :) Time to curl up on the sofa (yea right!) and read a couple of mags while the hubby dotes on you. Sounds good – at least in theory, right?

    Crazy, I broke the same toe on the same foot this summer…I was wearing flip flops and slipped on the rocks in front of my house, when I slipped I gripped with my toes to tightly, and broke the fourth toe on my left foot, right at the foot….took me eight weeks to recover completely…Sorry

    I think “I tripped over my child but didn’t hurt HER” is perfect. What’s wrong with that ?????

    You poor thing, I don’t have a good story but I broke my toe taking the trash out two years ago. I broke it on the lawn mower in the garage because I was in a hurry and didn’t turn the light on. Hurt like heck! Get well soon!
