baby love

I can’t get enough of this sweet baby girl. Her mom contacted me through my blog about doing her newborn photos and I was thrilled to help out! Baby A is absolutely precious with the sweetest strawberry hair…and she was so alert! Thank you Molly for allowing me to be part of your family’s special time with her!

J started violin lessons this week with her itty bitty instrument. Talk about darn cute. A has been playing now for two years and J has been waiting in the sidelines for her turn. We’ll be hearing Twinkle Twinkle again now in no time!

And here is what S did during her lesson :) I’d say he was lulled to sleep although the sounds coming from her violin weren’t necessarily all that soothing!

And later that day…a relaxing bath…how I love to scrub that chub!

I love this girl

I have been wanting to get photos of each of the girls…the kind of pictures that capture their true personalities, their beauty, their sweet spirits. So today J and I stole away to a favorite spot to play. There are so many reasons I love this little girl. Funny how we aren’t cut from the same mold and so I appreciate her girliness even more. She’s a Poly Pocket playing, Barbie loving, tiara wearing kind of gal. She’s silly and sweet and more than a wee bit stubborn. She’s tender hearted and so very full of make believe…she has stolen my heart.

And lest you think 13 pictures is going overboard…that’s just how much I love this kid.

I lied…

there might be something cuter than Kindergarten girls playing soccer.

How about a baby boy in a button up shirt! This was a gift from a special friend. I was thinking it would fit S sometime this winter but alas…he is a chunk…and wearing his Christmas clothes in September. And what about some baby bowling shoes?

So he is giving those soccer playing girls a run for their money for grand prize of the cuteness contest.
His hair is really coming in on top…he has been sporting a little mohawk!

He’s doing some adorable gummy grins these days…but capturing them is a challenge. It’s not that he doesn’t grin often enough…he just looks a bit possessed when he does! I’ll be sharing more picture of him soon…working on plans for his 3 month photo shoot (GASP…tell me it isn’t true!!)

Not much cuter…

than a bunch of kindergarten girls playing soccer!

Don’t let the picture fool you. A was blissfully unaware of the fundamentals of the game for most of the morning. I love that about her. While several girls on the opposing team elbowed their way to the goal, stomped feet , and pouted…A was happy to simply chase the ball (in any direction!) and giggle with her friends.

She played hard and had a fun time (and looked darn cute)…and thankfully…that is all her coach expects. And while the blue team could pass, dribble, line up their shots and shoot mid-field….our dear red team definitely took the prize for sweetest dispositions. And once their coach reminded them which goal was theirs…they even scored a few!

Kindergarten buddies…already fast friends :)

We’ll be spending most Saturday mornings on the field this fall. More pictures to follow soon!

sewing fun

I have been on the hunt for cute school clothes for A. Lamenting the fact that she has outgrown the toddler section at my favorite stores…and wanting some fun items for her that are comfy but will still turn heads…I’ve resorted to cranking up the trusty old sewing machine and doing it myself. I don’t know why clothing manufacturers feel the need to market “teen clothing” for little girls. Call me old fashioned, a fuddy-duddy, or just plain sensible…but I like my LITTLE girls to look…well…little. A is all about comfort these days. This is the first of several sets I’m working on for her.

Check out the Summer 2008 issue of Ottobre for this super cute top pattern! I was tiring of the same hoodie style tops I usually make the girls and was looking for something a bit more trendy. This pattern was a breeze to put together (minus the neck binding…which I ripped out 3 times!) I would highly suggest using FOE at the neckline…I’ve already ordered mine for the next round of sewing!

Anna said she got stopped by everyone at school today…including the principal…guess I should have packed some business cards in her backpack!!

I mentioned earlier that J has been patiently waiting (or at least trying) for her turn to start school. Tuesday was her first day of 3 year old preschool and to say she was thrilled was a serious underestimation! How my baby turned into a preschooler over night I will never understand. She is a such a silly little girl…full of make believe, knock knock jokes, and secret whispers. I hope her teachers see her creative spirit and grow to love her little Brooklyn accent as much as I do.

I caught her expression as she took a peek at her new room! Think she was excited?!?

With her teachers…I think I embarrassed her…hey…that’s what moms are for right?!?

Lining up for her ballet/tap combo class. This was actually week 2. Last week she was the only girl in class who didn’t have a ballet skirt…when the teacher had them curtsy and hold out their skirts I received the biggest DEATH GLARE through the classroom windows. Needless to say…J now has a very pretty pink SKIRTED leotard ;)

And cause he’s cute too and changing every day…

family fun downtown

I had the pleasure of meeting up with this sweet family Friday night for a fun photo shoot downtown. They are a beautiful family with tons of personality! We brought along the trusty green chair and tried out several new spots! I had so much fun with the kids trying to capture their personalities! Ann and I are kindred spirits as we share several things that are very close to our hearts. She is also the creative genius behind Swede at Heart. Thank you for the friendship, Ann…and for sharing your family with me!!
